Guarda-chuvas – Rosana Rios

Tenho quatro guarda-chuvas

todos os quatro com defeito;

Um emperra quando abre,

outro não fecha direito.

Um deles vira ao contrário

seu eu abro sem ter cuidado.

Outro, então, solta as varetas

e fica todo amassado.

O quarto é bem pequenino,

pra carregar por aí;

Porém, toda vez que chove,

eu descubro que esqueci…

Por isso, não falha nunca:

se começa a trovejar,

nenhum dos quatro me vale –

eu sei que vou me molhar.

Quem me dera um guarda-chuva

pequeno como uma luva

Que abrisse sem emperrar

ao ver a chuva chegar!

Tenho quatro guarda-chuvas

que não me servem de nada;

Quando chove de repente,

acabo toda encharcada.

E que fria cai a água

sobre a pele ressecada!

I have four umbrellas

All of them imperfect;

If opened, one gets stuck,

The other doesn't shut.

One of them turns around

If opened carelessly.

The other releases the rods

And it gets all rough.

The fourth one is smaller

To be carried around;

But, always when it rains,

I forget it again…

So, it’s never wrong

When the thunder rumbles,

none of the four works –

and I will soak.

I wish I had an umbrella

Small like a glove

That never gets stuck

The rain will fall in luck!

I have four umbrellas

That are all useless;

When it rains yet,

I got myself wet.

The water is cold for sure

On my dry back

Argh…
