One of the biggest icons of pop culture, or just Madonna, is a singer, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur and much more. Her 1,65cm height, blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes, would probably not be linked to someone memorable as these characteristics are quite common, but Madonna did something different.

Allied with her rebellious heart and daring behavior, her work incorporated social, political, sexual, and religious themes. Madonna highlighted important discussions that were emerging back in the 1980s and that have been discussed so far, such as feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, gun control, structural racism and sexuality.

Of course, a person who uses her engagement and fame to discuss controversial topics, like those, suffers with boycotts, hate attacks, and repudiation. Madonna claims to have been excommunicated three times from the Catholic Church, but she has never given up on her beliefs and she has never been silenced by those who criticized her actions.

I admire her for having the courage to be who she is, for giving visibility to others to be who they really are and I hope she will continue to inspire people for a long time.
